This journal entry as a record of the chat rules of our official chat #ChattyGIMPsters. This will be updated without notice! Also the one in the journal where the chat was first announced is out of date. Don't pay attention to it!
The Privclasses
AlmightyGIMPster: That's Jibodeah, or other Founders if anybody else gets promoted up there. (Then would be AlmightyGIMPsters). Can do everything that you can do in a chatroom.
AwesomeGIMPsters: Co-Founders, can do everything short of admin. So if you spam. Expect a warning/kick/temp-ban/perma-ban. Possibly in that order.
GreatGIMPsters: Contributors, can promote up to GIMPsters and demote down to NaughtyStep. And can kick. You have been warned.
GIMPsters: Members! Due to the vast number of members, you get promoted when you first enter the chat, and somebody who can promote you is there.
Others: New people who haven't been promoted yet or are there and aren't a member of the group for some reason.
NaughtyStep: You've spammed too much. So now you can't send messages. That'll teach you!
GTHO: Temporary Banned for some reason. Just wait for up to a week. (GTHO - Get The Hell Out)
GTFO: Perma-banned. Bai! Don't come back. (GTFO - Get The F*** Out)
Rules:
The Offical dAmn rules
No OverSpamming: excess use of CAPITALS, emotes, thumbs. Eg "". Spamming can also be considered as advertising, so don't advertise either.
Be Nice: sure, have a joke. But don't pick on one person.
No swearing in excess
Notes:
You don't have to only talk about GIMP!
Don't come back on an alternate account if banned or muted. Note the group to discuss a ban.
We would prefer it if you used a thumb instead of a plz account.
That be all!

GIMP 2.6.12 Released! -- Final 2.6 release --
This is a bug fix update only, no new features, wait till 2.8.
Bug fixes include GIMP failing to import paths from svg files and GIMP occasionally crashing when opening a file.

...and while you're here you do know there's a contest on right? There's points available! Points mean merch and prizes etc.
It ends whenever GIMP 2.8 is released (Currently planned for mid-march.), so everyone here should at least go look at the contest.

Update: GIMP 2.7.4 was just released! I don't want to bump this journal off the front page so I'mma announce it like this.
Changes include replacing the algorithm of the heal tool with a new one and some other stuff too. They added that this is likely to be the last in the 2.7 series as 2.8 is planned for January.

So a short while after I posted that previous job. A certain deviant donated the sizeable sum of 400 points to the donation box over at GIMP-Bot (https://www.deviantart.com/gimp-bot). They donated anonymously so I assume t
Points Box
Oh hey there! Long time no blogs.
...because nothing much happened GIMP wise. We're still on 2.6.11 and 2.8 is on it's way. :eager:
GIMP 2.8 is currently scheduled to be complete (Not released, just complete) on the 19th January 2012.
But, to the main point of this journal blog.
A while ago I set up a donation box on GIMP-Bot (https://www.deviantart.com/gimp-bot) for donations for a contest I planned to hold at some point. It's been a while and we've amassed the grand total of 45 points.
So here's what I want to ask you.
Should I continue waiting until we get a decent amount of points for a prize that's more than 45 points.
Or should I say 'stuff it' and do some mini con
